Palcic Taekwondo held a black belt grading on Sunday the 17th of November 2024, with roughly 40 students hoping to go from black tag to black belt or from one black belt to the next.
Before a student completes their Black belt grading they must complete three intense pregradings to progress to the real grading.
These three pregradings are all spaced apart to give students the opportunity to progress and improve before the grading.
The St Albans division of the club instructed by Carlo Schettinno (3rd/th dan) had many students grading and of these students, all of the students passed which makes the division stand out among the club as thriving and successful.
The process was long and impressive as students attended multiple classes per week, sometimes totalling 5 hours of training, as well as multiple mock theory tests to ensure their success on the real test and then the physical test which was from 1pm to 4.30pm for black tags and 1pm till 6.30pm for black belts.
Asked about the success, Carlo said “The feeling of elation when the results are published and you are told that you have passed, it’s beyond description. The hard work the sacrifices you have made to get to this point now all seem worth it. I congratulate my students, not only for the high standard, set for themselves, but also for my club.”.
This success has made everyone at the club extremely joyful and proud of everyone who participated.
You can attend Palcic Taekwondo St Albans on Tuesdays 6.20-8:20 at The Abbey CofE Primary School and on Thursdays 6:20pm-820pm as well as Saturday 10am-12pm at Aboyne Lodge Primary School.
