Last week, the alternative/indie artist, Beabadoobee, performed at Alexandra Palace with her band as the last concert of the UK leg of her tour.
Beabadoobee is a Filipino born British singer-songwriter and she began gaining fame when her song ‘Coffee’ blew up on social media during the Covid-19 lockdown three years after it was released and ever since then she has expanded her discography and gained a growing fan base.
Her band members are Eliana Sewell, Louis Semlekan-Faith and Jacob Bugden who are all phenomenal players and have vital roles within Beabaddoobee’s music.
The set list included songs from her most recent album ’This Is How Tomorrow Moves’ as well as some other songs from previous albums like Cologne, The Perfect Pair, She Plays Bass and Together.
The opening act was Momma; an alternate/indie band based in Brooklyn, New York and was formed in 2015 with three members.
I hadn’t heard of this band before, however I enjoyed their music and will listen to them in the future.
Throughout the concert, the lighting effects complimented the mood of each song and focused on the band.
During ‘Cologne’ the stage turned red with flashing lights in the background to reflect the song's sexual themes.
My favourite moment of the concert was when she performed ‘10:36’ as everyone was jumping up and down, creating an electric atmosphere.
Beabadoobee has an incredible stage presence and I highly recommend that you see her perform.
