During October this year, three National Football League (NFL) games took place in London; the first two games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the third at Wembley Stadium.
On 6th October the New York Jets lost 17-23 to the Minnesota Vikings.
13th October saw the Jacksonville Jaguars lose 16-35 against the Chicago Bears.
Finally on 20th October the New England Patriots lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 16-32.
There have been NFL games taking place in London since 2007 with the aim of increasing American football’s popularity in the UK.
Going to the games is an enjoyable experience, with a lively and exciting atmosphere created through the performance of both the English and American national anthems and a DJ before the game.
Additionally there is a plethora of different teams jersey’s throughout the stadium and combination of largely Americans and English fans.
However, the games last for 60 minutes, and this eventually becomes much longer with lots of stopping and starting due to making space for ad breaks as the games are broadcasted on TV, as well as replays and injuries, despite this the games are still very enjoyable.
The games this year were televised on Sky Sports, ITV, Channel 5 and DAZN (for those with an NFL Game Pass).
Overall, I would strongly recommend attending if you enjoy watching NFL football or want to experience a lively and memorable sporting event.
