May has seen a number of highly dangerous criminals face justice in south east London, with both murderers and rapists put behind bars in the past month.
Whilst May has seen lockdown rules once again ease and many happier stories grace south east London, the News Shopper has also had to report on some more gruesome or tragic tales.
Among those jailed in May include two murderers, a rapist and paedophile, money launderers and drug dealers.
Here are the most significant cases of the month:
Mason Bridle and Mario Gruda - Murder and manslaughter
The pair, both from south east London were jailed for the murder of 18-year-old Cameron Murfitt.
The teenager was rammed off his bike by a stolen car before he was repeatedly stabbed in Woolwich Common on March 15, 2020.
The killers, who were both full-time Class A drug dealers, drove off, leaving Mr Murfitt to die of a fatal stab wound to his thigh.
Mason Bridle, an 18-year-old from Lewisham, has now been sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 16 years.
Mario Gruda, 23 and from Eltham, was convicted of the lesser offence of manslaughter and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.
Dean Edmunds and Leanne Edmunds - Rape, sexual assault and paedophilia
Dean Edmunds, 32, and Leanne Edmunds, 36, dubbed themselves “perverts together forever” as they exchanged messages about the attacks, Croydon Crown Court heard.

Edmunds was jailed for a total of 18 years at Croydon Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to a total of 28 offences.
His wife, who has spent eight months in prison on remand, was spared jail and handed a three-year community order after admitting three counts of making indecent photographs of children, intercourse with an animal, possession of extreme pornography and possession of prohibited images of children.
Trio of county lines drug dealers
Alex Oni, Adrian Bodzioch and Deividas Sakalauskas ran a county lines drugs network from London to Gravesham.
Kent Police said the county lines operation often coerced vulnerable people into supplying the substances, and even groomed a 12-year-old boy into running drugs.
The trio operated primarily in Gravesham, and “caused widespread misery” as they transported drugs from London to north Kent.
Oni, 31, of Marina Drive, Northfleet denied conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine but was found guilty of both offences following a trial at Woolwich Crown Court. He was sentenced to 11 years and 9 months’ imprisonment.
Bodzioch, 22, of Northcote Road, Northfleet, admitted conspiring to supply crack cocaine and possessing a weapon designed to discharge a noxious liquid. He was sentenced to four years and 10 months’ imprisonment.
Sakalauskas, 20, of Northcote Road, Northfleet, admitted possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. He was sentenced to three years and eight months’ imprisonment.
Bertrand Sisk - Grievous bodily harm with intent
Bertrand Sisk, 28, attacked his victim, a young man he barely knew, outside Pure nightclub in Bexleyheath after taking a cocktail of alcohol, cocaine and steroids.
In one punch, "Sisk robbed the victim of life as he knew it," causing the back of the man's head to hit the pavement and causing severe brain injuries.
Sisk was sentenced to six and a half years in prison at Woolwich Crown Court on May 5.
Clarke Daniel Morgan-Findlay - Money laundering
